VC Initiative

In parallel to the competition for complementary R&D projects within small and midsize enterprises, the companies participating in THESEUS want to facilitate contact between people whose businesses are in the startup phase with providers of capital (venture capital). The goal of the initiative is to include participants for whom participation in the SME competition is not possible, but whose innovative project ideas could expand the scope of the THESEUS research program.

The initiative is being sponsored by the companies shown below. The intention is to expand this list over the course of time.

To participate, please submit an executive summary of your business plan. When doing so, highlight the degree of innovation in your story, whether it’s of a technical nature or it relates to your business model. Refer to alternative solutions and existing competitors. Focus in particular on the market, both with regard to the benefits of your solution for individual customers and to market size and development. Also detail your qualifications and previous experiences here that distinguish you as a founder and that enable you not only to enter the market, but to sustain yourself in the market over the long term. The summary should conclude with a simplified three-year plan for incoming orders/revenue and costs.

If you believe that your story fits within the subject area of the THESEUS research program and that your startup idea could be of interest to the venture capital firms listed, then please apply online with your complete outline at gruender@theseus-programm.de .

A Founder’s Day planned for the end of 2008 will enable selected participants to make contact with representatives of the venture capital firms and will allow the possibilities for further collaboration to be evaluated.

We will keep you updated on current developments.
