The Chair for Computer Science 9 (Data Management and Data Exploration) works on technologies for databases and data mining with a focus on large data sets of complex objects including relational tuples, multimedia data and spatio-temporal objects which occur in many applications of natural sciences, engineering, communication and life sciences. The topics range from new models for data mining and similarity search to efficient query processing using multistep algorithms and indexing structures.
