raumobil GmbH is a new enterprise from the TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe focusing on new concepts and innovations concerning mobility. The Internet platform www.raumobil.de is a Web 2.0 community portal serving private and corporate users as intermediate forum to generate the most efficient usage of spare resources related to transport and storage.
Currently, more than 40,000 private users and 1,000 companies are registered with raumobil. The portal offers a range of services including a car sharing agency, a carpool, a courier service, locating storage space, parking spaces and event locations - short as well as long term.

The online-business is supported by the High-Tech Gruenderfonds of the Federal Republic of Germany. It has won several prices for its innovative business concept which encompasses to optimize existing resources in the field of ‘private logistics’ through new means of communication - as a result the end-user saves time and expenses and helps to reduce negative environmental impacts. raumobil facilitates the communication between provider and demander without offering a courier service itself.
