  IT summit: THESEUS flagship project demonstrates the use of semantic technologies for improved medical diagnosis:

  Darmstadt, 11/20/2008: As part of the IT summit organised by the German Federal Government, THESEUS, Germany’s largest IT research programme, is showing how semantic technologies will shortly be able to make medical diagnosis and therapy easier.   Project funded by THESEUS awarded innovation prize from IBM:

  Berlin, 07/16/2008:

  The Information Technology Department of Darmstadt Technical University has been awarded the “Unstructured Information Management Architecture Innovation Award” (UIMA). The prize, worth $24,000, is awarded by the computer manufacturer IBM to support the development of a freely accessible collection of programs for computer-based text analysis (open source programs).
