InfoChem GmbH

InfoChem GmbH, founded in 1989 and based in Munich, Germany, is a market leader in the field of cheminformatics, specialized in structure and reaction handling and retrieval. InfoChem focuses on the production and marketing of new chemical information products, including structural and reaction databases, and the development of software tools required for these applications.

The high performance structure search engine ICFSE (InfoChem Fast Search Engine) enables searching within millions of molecules and reactions in seconds. ICFSE is an important component of other products, as for example the InfoChem Chemistry Cartridge for Oracle (ICCARTRIDGE). In addition, InfoChem distributes one of the largest structural and reaction files worldwide, currently containing 7 million organic and organometallic compounds and facts and 4 million reactions covering the chemical literature published since 1974 (SPRESI).
One of the new business fields, Mining for Chemistry, covers the areas of automatic chemical named entity recognition, chemical image recognition and quality oriented processing of the abstracted data. Thanks to numerous custom projects InfoChem has gained extensive experience with the relevant software tools produced by different companies and has therefore an overview of the basic problems and their possible solutions.

At present, 21 employees work at InfoChem. 12 of them are software developers with specific know-how in programming software tools to handle chemistry structure and reaction databases.
